Mother and kids rescued on Lake Tahoe

The Coast Guard and multiple agencies rescued three people Wednesday evening after they were reported missing on Lake Tahoe.

At 9:45 p.m., Coast Guard Sector San Francisco Command Center watchstanders received notification from Coast Guard Station Lake Tahoe that a 31-year-old female and her two children were missing and were last seen drifting on a raft in Meeks Bay.

The Sector San Francisco Command Center issued an Urgent Marine Information Broadcast and launched a rescue boatcrew from Coast Guard Station Lake Tahoe.

Tahoe Paradise replaces MS Dixie II for time being

Lake Tahoe Cruises announced that their boat "Tahoe Paradise" will be operating the company's sightseeing and dinner cruises instead of the M.S. Dixie II starting January 21.

The Tahoe Paradise will operate out of the Ski Run Marina.

Tahoe Queen gets stuck: 258 passengers transported to safety

What started off as a leisurely 90 minute cruise on the Tahoe Queen turned into quite the adventure for passengers on board Monday afternoon.

The boat was about 30 minutes into its Emerald Bay cruise when it became stuck on a sandbar. At about 3:30 p.m., South Lake Tahoe Fire Department received a call that the Tahoe Queen was stuck off the Regan Beach shore. It is not known at this time why emergency personnel weren't called to the scene until 90 minutes after the Tahoe Queen got stuck.

Lake Tahoe Tourism Officials Denounce Fireworks Lawsuit

With Tahoe South’s two annual fireworks celebrations meeting all state and federal standards throughout their 30-year history, area tourism officials strongly denounced a lawsuit that could threaten the annual July Fourth and Labor Day events as totally unnecessary.

In November, Joseph and Joan Truxler, of Zephyr Cove, Nev., filed a federal lawsuit against the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority and Pyro Spectaculars North alleging the twice-annual fireworks shows violated the Clean Water Act.

Nine rescued from Lake Tahoe after boat flips

Nine people were rescued Saturday after their boat took on water and flipped over near Dollar Point in Lake Tahoe, the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office reports.

South Lake Tahoe man, Robert Ranieri, dies in skydiving accident

A skydiving accident claimed the life of a South Lake Tahoe man on Tuesday. El Dorado County Sheriff's Office confirms that Robert Ranieri, 29, died after landing in Lake Tahoe. He was found submerged in the lake by divers. Ranieri was among three who were skydiving earlier Tuesday morning from a helicopter. Two other men were found safe.
