Update: South Lake Tahoe decorated fire truck to make holiday rounds this year

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The longstanding tradition of the decorated South Lake Tahoe Fire Truck making the rounds through neighborhoods will be taking a year off due to COVID-19.
The tough decision was made due to safety and protecting participant's health.
Lake Valley Fire releases holiday truck schedule
Submitted by paula on Wed, 11/18/2020 - 4:09pmThe time-honored tradition of Lake Valley Fire Protection District touring streets in their jurisdiction with a decorated fire engine returns starting December 11.
Due to COVID-19, the Holiday engine will not be handing out candy canes this year but all are welcome to wave and say hello from a safe social distance. Each night they start their trek between 5:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
December 11 – Echo View Estates, Tahoe Mountain Road, Mule Deer Circle
December 12 – Lake Tahoe Blvd from Boulder Mountain Drive to Grizzly Mountain Drive
Schedule for South Lake Tahoe's decorated fire truck released
Submitted by paula on Tue, 12/01/2015 - 1:24pmThe South Lake Tahoe Fire Department has released the schedule for their 2015 decorated Christmas engine. All of the fun runs nightly from December 10 to 24 barring any weather issues or emergencies.
The truck leaves Fire Station 2 at 5:00 p.m. nightly.
Thursday, December 10.....Keys/Venice
Friday, December 11.......Glenwood
Saturday, December 12.....Keys Blvd / State Sts
Sunday, December 13.......South Y /Tata
Monday, December 14.......Barton / Tahoe Island
Tuesday, December 15......Al Tahoe Blvd
Holiday in History adds new events for a weekend full of activities
Submitted by paula on Thu, 12/04/2014 - 11:29pmThe Lake Tahoe Historical Society invites the community to their annual "Holiday in History" event December 13-14. They will have a Victorian Christmas scene in the museum, free tours of the 1930's log cabin, a special phone with a direct line to the North Pole so kids can talk to Santa, refreshments and free giant snowflakes with qualifying purchases.
They will have both buildings open Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
