Free writing workshop for veterans in South Lake Tahoe
Submitted by paula on Fri, 09/07/2018 - 8:05amThe El Dorado Arts Council is expanding their Veterans’ Voices Writing Workshop to South Lake Tahoe beginning Oct. 1. The free, drop-in workshop is open to all veterans and all skill levels are encouraged. The workshops will be held on Mondays, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Lake Tahoe Community College, Room A206, near the LTCC Veterans Resource Center.

El Dorado County names Poet Laureate
Submitted by paula on Wed, 04/27/2016 - 12:03pmEl Dorado Arts Council has inaugurated a Poet Laureate program for El Dorado County. This post, officially appointed by a conferring institution, is bestowed on a noted poet to honor his or her body of work and to celebrate poetry as an art form.
Taylor Graham was chosen by a panel of literary experts because of the caliber of her work, her engagement with poets and writers in the community, and the critical acclaim her work has garnered.
Bringing Art To Schools in South Lake Tahoe

BATS students both learn about classic works of art—their meanings, styles, and the movements that informed them—and create their own art based upon a selected theme.

Wine Tasting and Art Auction feature Thomas Kinkade Prints
Submitted by Editor on Mon, 04/16/2012 - 2:01amThe El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce Education Council will hold its annual Wine Tasting/Art Auction on Friday, May 4, 2012, at 6 p.m. where ten Thomas Kinkade framed prints, along with artwork from other area artists, will be auctioned off to the highest bidder.
David Girard Vineyard will be the site where the Wine Tasting/Art Auction will take place, and the Wine Tasting will feature fine David Girard Vineyard wines.
