First the aurora borealis and now a solar eclipse — what a week for skywatchers! Plus it occurs Friday (the first day of spring) and the same day as a Supermoon. Some people will have the chance to experience a solar eclipse, supermoon and spring equinox all in one day!
Sierra-at-Tahoe latest resort to close due to drought

Sierra-at-Tahoe is the latest Lake Tahoe area ski resort to announce that it will suspend operations, beginning Monday, because of the lack of snow brought on by the ongoing drought in the west.

Sierra-at-Tahoe brings the second annual Equinox Spring Festival to the slopes beginning March 21. This free festival features live bands over three consecutive weekends, signature Sierra events for all ages and competitions on and off the mountain. Competitions including the Van's Hi-Standard Series and 9th Annual Buckle Up Big Air will be taking place on-mountain, while the 8th Annual Salsa Showdown will happen in the base area.
