South Lake Tahoe affordable housing complex receiving upgrades

The Sierra Garden Apartments, located at 1801 Lake Tahoe Boulevard in South Lake Tahoe, are set to receive a $15 million renovation funded through Low-Income Housing Tax Credits and tax-exempt bonds.

April 24, 2015 (All day) The fourth annual Lake Tahoe Home and Garden Show will be held April 24, 2015, from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm, and Saturday, April 25, 2015, from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm, at the South Lake Tahoe Recreation Complex and Gym. Vendors will offer information on gardening in Tahoe, furnishings for the home and garden, plants and home decor items, clothing options, toys, and health related information and goods.Attendees can enjoy a variety of food vendors and live music will be available.
American Legion closing for renovations; In need of donations

We have elected an energetic new Board, created a full House and Grounds Committee, and are adding new members almost daily to the Legion Post and Auxiliary. With more involved members, we have found much to be done. A visit from our District Commander brought other requirements to light that must now be accomplished.

Sometimes, it might be a headache or nausea when passing by a department store’s fragrance counter or riding in an elevator with someone wearing a certain fragrance. However, there is a growing number of people who suffer more severe reactions to these and many other types of products and chemicals. This condition is known as multiple chemical sensitivities (MCS) and involves people who have developed an acute sensitivity to various chemicals in the environment.
