April 20, 2024 - 2:00pm Are you looking forward to growing season? Slow Food Lake Tahoe is hosting a first-ever FREE veggie seed give away (and some herb and flower seeds too, just for fun!). This family-friendly event is designed to help you jump start our short growing season by providing you with seeds to start indoors NOW. The seeds provided have been shown to grow best in our high elevation climate. In fact, they are the same varieties SFLT uses in their SFLT gardens. Check out the best in seeds for peas, beans, greens, beets, carrots and radishes (and more)!

Growing Food in Tahoe Workshop Series

Dreaming of your garden? Want to get a jump start on prepping veggies for your summer garden?
Join the UCCE Master Gardeners of Lake Tahoe this May for free family friendly, hands-on workshops to learn how food can be grown at the Lake. They will be hosting Growing Food in Lake Tahoe Workshop Series around the lake.
Participants receive instruction on cultivation technique and background on the plants being highlighted. Everyone will leave with free plants for their garden.

August 14, 2016 - 12:00pm On Sunday August 14th from 12:00 pm to 3:30 pm the Tahoe Resource Conservation District will hold the 9th annual Landscape Conservation Workshop at the Evans Family Garden located at 1383 Mount Olympia Circle in South Lake Tahoe. The workshop will provide a unique opportunity to see demonstrations of Tahoe Friendly Landscape practices and to interact with local conservation professionals.

Lake Tahoe Home and Garden Show

April 24, 2015 (All day) The fourth annual Lake Tahoe Home and Garden Show will be held April 24, 2015, from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm, and Saturday, April 25, 2015, from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm, at the South Lake Tahoe Recreation Complex and Gym. Vendors will offer information on gardening in Tahoe, furnishings for the home and garden, plants and home decor items, clothing options, toys, and health related information and goods.Attendees can enjoy a variety of food vendors and live music will be available.
Green Gardening Workshops Continue in Lake Tahoe

Make a statement this July Fourth Holiday. Get down and dirty and join other Lake Tahoe gardeners in creating a stunning, long-lasting color bowl for your home this year. Bring a 14-16 inch color bowl with fresh soil (the secret to healthy containers is good dirt) and the Lake Tahoe Master Gardners will supply the plants. There will be ornamentals as well as edibles all with a Red-White-and-Blue theme!
It will be held at the U.C. Davis Tahoe City Field Station which is located at 2400 Lake Forest Rd in Tahoe City.
Refreshments will be provided as they are at each workshop.
