Kudos: Bread & Broth thanks community for Thanksgiving meal
Submitted by paula on Mon, 11/30/2020 - 11:32amBread & Broth’s holiday Thanksgiving meal giveaway on November 23 was a tremendous success thanks to the kindness of many generous community supporters. In addition to the regular bags filled with fresh fruit and vegetables, milk, eggs, butter, bread and pastries, 170 holiday meal “fixings” bags were handed out in the foyer of St. Theresa Grace Hall. The Thanksgiving meals went to 549 very grateful individuals and family members.
Kudos: High Sierra Softball appreciates generosity of the community
Submitted by paula on Tue, 05/07/2019 - 5:00amHigh Sierra Softball kicked off Opening Day 2019 this weekend at South Tahoe High’s Field Of Dreams. With registration up 30 percent from last year, the High Sierra Board would like to thank and share the generosity of a local business and service club who are helping the athletes in our league participate to their fullest.
Blue Zone Sports donated 12 softball gloves to the league.
"Many of our kids don’t have any equipment or are using their grandpa's old baseball glove," said Board President, Chris Chandler. "This donation is very thoughtful and essential for our players."

Submitted by Anonymous on Thu, 12/20/2018 - 9:32amThe Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority would like to thank the community for the donations of toys, food and $1,675 in cash, (including $800 from Reno-Tahoe Territory and $500 from South Lake Tahoe Lodging Association) that was dropped of for Christmas Cheer All Year at the LTVA’s Nevada Visitors Center.
We are overwhelmed by the generosity of our South Shore community.
Thank you to all the individuals and businesses who participated in making the holidays a little brighter for those in need.

Kudos: Tahoe Coalition for the Homeless thanks the community
Submitted by paula on Tue, 05/08/2018 - 8:48pmSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – On behalf of Tahoe Coalition for the Homeless (TCH), I would like to thank our community for its support during the third winter season of the South Lake Tahoe Warm Room project. Our organization received donations from over 150 different individuals and businesses and benefited from 64 volunteers who provided over 675 volunteer hours in the Warm Room.

Our organization received donations from over 200 different individuals and businesses and benefited from over 60 volunteers who provided over 1600 volunteer hours.

As a non-profit that is staffed by an all volunteer crew, B&B relies on our very generous community donors to provide the funds needed to cover the costs associated with providing the dinners.
South Lake Tahoe community coming together for fire victims

With the Butte Fire forcing hundreds out of their homes while destroying over a hundred of them, and burning tens of thousands of acres, people in that community are in need of assistance.
Enter into the picture Monica Nichols and dozens of other locals as they spearheaded a donation drive and are now taking them into the burn area.
