Local students among 650 graduates of Western Nevada College
Submitted by paula on Tue, 05/19/2020 - 6:19pmAlthough Western Nevada College has delayed its commencement ceremony to honor its 2020 graduation class because of COVID-19, the college is proud to announce and congratulate its list of graduates.
Following the spring semester 2020, 650 students have graduated with 692 degrees and certificates. Eighteen of those were given to residents around Lake Tahoe.
Lake Tahoe students among 308 on Dean's List at Western Nevada College
Submitted by paula on Mon, 06/10/2019 - 8:34pmWestern Nevada College has named 308 students to the Spring 2019 Dean’s List. For consideration to WNC’s Dean’s List, students must complete at least 12 units during the semester and accumulate a grade point average of 3.50 or higher.

Six South Lake Tahoe residents part of record 617 graduating class at WNC
Submitted by paula on Mon, 05/20/2019 - 12:29pmWestern Nevada College celebrated a record 617 graduates during its commencement ceremony earlier today at the Marv Teixeira Pavilion in Carson City. The 2019 graduating class will receive 651 degrees and certificates of achievement.
Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak and Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford addressed WNC’s graduating class during its commencement ceremony.

Lake Tahoe residents on Western Nevada College Dean's List
Submitted by paula on Tue, 01/08/2019 - 5:40pmWestern Nevada College has released the names of their Fall 2018 Dean's List, one of its largest dean’s lists in years. On the list are 373 students, accounting for 31.1 percent of the college’s full-time students.
Also on the list are residents of South Lake Tahoe, Marla Bay, Zephyr Cove and Stateline. To earn the distinction of making WNC’s Dean’s List, students must complete at least 12 units during the semester and accumulate a grade point average of 3.50 or higher.

Sierra Nevada Ballet Presents 'Giselle' featuring Dance, Music and More

July 30, 2012 (All day) The Sierra Nevada Ballet takes the stage this summer to present "Giselle," which is possibly the best-loved of all the world's ballets. This profound folk tale comes to life through music, drama and over 30 professional dancers who will share this story of doomed love ... complete with jealousy, madness and vengeful ghosts. According to the ballet’s artistic director Rosine Bena, “Giselle is steeped in the tradition of ballet and conveys the poetry that makes this great production a must see this summer.”
