DOUGLAS COUNTY, Calif. - Since Superintendent Terri White announced her retirement at the end of February, the Douglas County School Board has been searching for her replacement.
On Monday, May 4 at 1:00 p.m., the board will hold a special meeting to interview three candidates via ZOOM and the public is invited to watch and participate. According to their agenda, a new superintendent could be chosen and announced by the end of the meeting.
Lake Tahoe Unified School District starts process of hiring new superintendent

LTUSD Superintendent Dr. James Tarwater submitted his resignation on June 21 after serving the South Lake Tahoe community since 2005. He gave the Board a one year notice, making his last day in June 2020.
Sierra-at-Tahoe holds job fair at Mt. Tallac High

This exclusive job fair is the product of an ongoing relationship between the school and the resort. In past years representatives from Sierra visited Mt. Tallac to teach the students valuable interviewing skills and invite them to their community job fairs.
Sierra-at-Tahoe came for the job fair as a direct result of the school's annual Meet & Greet with the community.

New HR Director for Barton Health in South Lake Tahoe

“We are pleased to have Elizabeth on board,” said Dr. Clint Purvance, Barton Health’s CEO and President. “She brings both the tools and passion for helping our employees deliver consistently exceptional care and reach their full potential.”
Stork has more than 15 years of experience working in human resources. She most recently served as the Vice President of Human Resources for a non-profit home health and hospice agency in Washington State.
Elected county officials back Don Ashton for Chief Executive Officer
Submitted by paula on Tue, 04/05/2016 - 6:18pmSeven elected officials in El Dorado County submitted a letter of recommendation to the Board of Supervisors, backing Don Ashton for the position of Chief Administrative Officer. The county has been searching for someone to take the top spot after a series of people were in the position. Larry Combs came out of retirement to be the Interim CAO on June 29, 2015.
Ashton is the current Director of Health & Human Services.

Larry Werner to be offered $172,008 to manage Douglas County for one year
Submitted by paula on Sat, 01/30/2016 - 5:23pmIn an effort to not leave the county without a leader, a contract for Larry Werner to be the Douglas County Manager for one year will be voted on by commissioners during their February 4, 2016 meeting.
His contract will be for $172,008 with a car allowance of $700 per month. The former Carson City Manager, and former interim Douglas County Manager will start on March 7. Werner last served the county in the position after the departure of Steve Mokrohisky in 2014.
Douglas County hires new Human Resources Director
Submitted by paula on Tue, 01/19/2016 - 5:07pmAfter a competitive recruitment process was conducted for the Director of Human Resources, Douglas County has selected current Interim Human Resources Director Wendy Lang for the permanent position of Director of Human Resources.
“I am very excited about this position and I look forward to serving employees throughout the County in full capacity,” said Wendy Lang. “My background and experience aligns with the needs of the organization and I am excited to do great work with the entire Human Resource team.”
Knorr out, Combs in as El Dorado County CAO
Submitted by paula on Wed, 06/17/2015 - 6:39amInterim El Dorado County Chief Administrative Officer Pamela Knorr no longer holds the title of Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the title she has held since being appointed in 2014. After a closed session of the Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, she was removed from the position and Larry Combs was appointed to fill the position.
Knorr will return to her original appointment as the county’s full-time Human Resources director on June 29.
