Stateline’s exciting, newly opened Tahoe Blue Event Center, named for its sponsor Tahoe Blue Vodka, has shows and concerts galore. If those headliners don’t match your taste, there’s still something in it for everyone: better transportation options for the South Shore.
As CEO of the League to Save Lake Tahoe, my team and I worked with the event center for many months to make sure it does its part to Keep Tahoe Blue. That means managing its local transportation impacts down to net zero.

Submitted by paula on Fri, 05/22/2020 - 6:54amWhether you live here in Tahoe or can’t wait until it’s safe to visit, we’re all anxious for a return to normalcy. This time of year, that means getting boats on the Lake's beautiful blue waters - while ensuring that you, me and Lake Tahoe stay healthy. To Keep Tahoe Blue, we must protect it from harmful invasive species. Weeds, fish and other invasive organisms can cloud the Lake’s clear waters, encourage toxic algae blooms, and damage Tahoe’s ecological balance. In short, invasive species turn Tahoe green.

Keep Tahoe Blue volunteers pick up 224 pounds of trash along North Shore beaches
Submitted by paula on Wed, 09/05/2018 - 11:05amEarly on the morning of September 3, 2018, over 70 Keep Tahoe Blue volunteers arrived at Commons Beach in Tahoe City to comb the sands along six miles of shoreline in search of items left behind by those enjoying the previous night’s fireworks festivities.
They collected 224 pounds of litter including 2,064 cigarette butts and 1,520 pieces of plastic. League to Save Lake Tahoe staff ship the cigarette butts to a company on the east coast that upcycles them into new plastic products. Plastic cannot be upcycled and end up in landfills.
