The Tahoe Area Coordinating Council for the Disabled is being recognized by area restaurants in celebration of the council's 31 years. Taqueria Jalisco in South Lake Tahoe will host lunch, dinner and recognize TACCD on Oct. 25. Taqueria Jalisco is located at 3097 Harrison Avenue behind Rojos.
October was chosen for the annual fundraising events to highlight October as Disability Awareness and Employment month.

Steamers recognizes Tahoe Area Coordinating Council for the Disabled

The Tahoe Area Coordinating Council for the Disabled is being recognized by area restaurants in celebration of the council's 31 years. Steamers Bar and Grill in South Lake Tahoe will host lunch, dinner and a City Council Candidate's Meet and Greet from 6 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 23. Steamers is located at 2236 Lake Tahoe Blvd. near Tahoe Keys Blvd.

The Coyote Grill dishes up 'All You Can Eat Chili' every Thursday from 5:00 PM 'till closing and donates 20% of all proceeds to each beneficiary.

'Stars of Tomorrow' Talent Competition Applications Due April 20

The 6th annual STARS of Tomorrow Talent Competition has been scheduled for Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the South Tahoe Middle School MPR. Applications are due April 20.
The competition is open to students currently enrolled in the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades in the South Tahoe area, both California and Nevada sides of the state line. This includes South Tahoe High, Whittell High and any student enrolled in a private high school program or an approved continuation or home-schooled program.

Livestrong, American Century give $100,000 to South Lake Tahoe area nonprofits

The holiday arrived early for 27 South Lake Tahoe non-profit organizations Thursday, Dec. 8, as $100,000 in charitable contributions was distributed on behalf of LIVESTRONG® and the American Century Championship by the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority.

“We’re fortunate to have the support from LIVESTRONG, NBC Sports and American Century Investments to assist to the local community,” said Carol Chaplin, executive director of the LTVA in a news release. “In addition to an outstanding event which attracts visitors, our 22-year partnership also helps local groups in need.”
