July 28, 2018 - 10:00am Authors Karen Dustman and Laurie Hickey will speak on their book The Old Genoa Cemetery: A Walking Tour – Book 1, in a free presentation at the Dangberg Home Ranch Historic Park on Saturday, July 28, at 10:00 am.
The Old Genoa Cemetery: A Walking Tour – Book 1 is the first book in a four volume series of books written by historians Karen Dustman and Laurie Hickey, which highlight Genoa and Carson Valley’s earliest and most prominent settlers.

Tahoe WordWave: Inaugural literary festival gaining national attention

Modeled after San Francisco's LitQuake, organizers of Tahoe WordWave have gathered creative and inspiring writers, musicians, and performers from around the country to share their talents over a three day experience at Tallac Historic Site. The festival will be interactive, featuring readings, workshops, plays, open mics, guided hikes, and oral storytelling.

October 9, 2015 - 2:00pm WordWave is a three-day festival held from Oct. 9-11, 2015 on the grounds of Valhalla at the Tallac Historic Site in South Lake Tahoe, CA. This literary mash-up will feature oral storytelling, theater performances and free readings, panels on craft, yoga, and a novel writing camp for kids. Highlights include a one-act playwriting contest, a Maker’s Station demo with bookbinding, letterpress, drum making, and found poetry and art. Ticketed events include a steampunk ball, workshops, and even a hike.
