Submitted by Anonymous on Sat, 10/15/2016 - 2:50pmThis November the right choice for South Lake Tahoe is Jason Collin! Jason is a thoughtful, collaborative and engaging leader with a responsible and positive vision for our community. It has been my pleasure to witness his leadership skills first hand working on volunteer boards and local events together! Jason is a top notch individual whose common sense, respectful communication style and energy are desperately needed on the City Council.

Tahoe Chamber turns 60; Special celebration planned
Submitted by paula on Mon, 02/02/2015 - 4:33pmThe date was February 17, 1955. The City of South Lake Tahoe had yet to be incorporated (that happened ten years later). Bill Harrah has just purchased George's Getaway Club for $500,000 and Chris Kuraisa purchased Bijou Ski Area for $1,950 and moved lift operations up the hill and renamed it Heavenly Valley. The number one song was "Sincerely" by the McGuire Sisters.
February 17, 1955 was also the day that the original Lake Tahoe South Shore Chamber of Commerce was incorporated.

February Ski Bum: where is the center of town?
Submitted by Anonymous on Fri, 02/15/2013 - 11:07pm
Event Date:
February 15, 2013 (All day) I am sure glad I live here and not down there where there is such a big stink about a dad who took a DOJ helicopter and dropped the homecoming football to the team from the air. Where else can you go anywhere and have Santa dropped of in the Calstar helicopter at the Meyers Christmas Tree lighting or have the high school homecoming game ball delivered by Calstar?
I would gladly pay for that as I know others would also.

Unity at the Lake began as a small study group in Karen Martin's living room and 17 years later is a thriving, diverse and open spiritual community that well over a hundred locals and visitors call their spiritual home. Their spiritual leaders, Stew and Hillary Bittman, are currently in the process of becoming ordained Interfaith Ministers. Unity has published the "Daily Word" since 1924.
