Eleven South Tahoe High football players on Nevada All State teams
Submitted by paula on Thu, 02/02/2017 - 12:49pmEleven varsity football players from South Tahoe High are part of the 2016 Class 3A all-state football team.
First team honors went to four of the South Tahoe players. Senior Tommy Cefalu, who just signed to attend Eastern Oregon University next year as a student-athlete is the quarterback of the team. Senior wide receiver Noah Jackson, junior tight end McCallan Castles and junior cornerback Matt Cain were also honored for their play on the field.
South Tahoe High Vikings battle rival Truckee Friday night
Submitted by paula on Fri, 10/21/2016 - 9:23amThe traditional Senior Game at South Tahoe High is on Friday, October 21 when the Vikings meet their rivals, the Truckee Wolverines. Both teams are tied for second place in Northern Nevada Division 3A with a 7-1 record. The Vikings are on a six-game winning streak in their quest to take over the first place spot from Spring Creek.
The final regular season game for Varsity is at 7:00 p.m. with the Junior Varsity teams taking the field first at 4:30 p.m.
Arrive early as the tribute to the seniors will be right before the Varsity game begins.

June 7, 2016 (All day) Massage parlors are formally known for giving massages as well as allowing an opportunity for relaxation, however, local massage parlors have recently been accused of giving “happy endings” at the end of their sessions, which is considered prostitution. Without question, this activity is giving our beautiful town a bad reputation, creating the possibility of an economic downturn, and an increase in local crime.
South Tahoe boys basketball team heads to state tournament as #2 seed from the north
Submitted by paula on Sat, 02/20/2016 - 5:27pmIt was a total of eight points that separated the winner from the loser in the three games South Tahoe High played in the Northern Nevada Division 1-A basketball tournament this week.
On Thursday, the Vikings beat Spring Creek 69-66 in the quarterfinals.
On Friday, the Vikings beat Lowry 44-41 in the semifinals.
In Saturday's final game, South Tahoe was matched against Elko. It was another nail biter as Junior Noah Jackson attempted a three-point shot just as time ran out. It hit the rim, but didn't drop in.
Alumnus returns to the South Tahoe High gym to attempt his 500th career win

Drew Hibbs lead the South Tahoe High basketball team back then, and now he is returning to his old stomping grounds as the coach of two-time California State basketball champion Foothill High School Mustangs, the Sacramento Bee Coach of the Decade, and a coach looking for his 400th career win.
South Tahoe High Vikings win first football game of the season
Submitted by paula on Fri, 09/25/2015 - 10:46pmThe South Tahoe High Vikings Football team hosted the Lowery Buckaroos on Friday night in a game that earn the hometown boys their first win of the season.
After close losses to El Dorado (35-32) and Spring Creek (33-27), the Vikings were ready for a win.
Quarterback Tommy Cefalu threw one touchdown pass to Darren Jackson, followed by one on the ground for Jackson and two more rushing touchdowns by Noah Jackson.
The final: 27-0.
Next up for the Vikings: Next week's homecoming game against Wooster at STHS Friday night. Varsity starts at 7 p.m., JV at 4:30 p.m.
