Kudos: To all making Bijou Bike Park Grand Opening a great success
Submitted by paula on Fri, 10/02/2015 - 12:32pmOn behalf of the City of South Lake Tahoe I would like to extend sincere gratitude to all of the individuals and merchants who donated product or provided services to help make our Bijou Bike Park Grand Opening a tremendous success. On September 19th thousands of youth and families joined City Council and staff to celebrate the Bike Park project with a free BBQ, ice cream, and music. A special thank you to Grill Master, Steve “Tee” Branch and Anthony Pulera for sweating over hot coals for three hours to serve 1000 people hot dogs and burgers.
City of South Lake Tahoe 50th Anniversary Event: Parks & Recreation Open House

As part of a year long 50th anniversary celebration, the City of South Lake Tahoe is holding a joint open house celebration at the Recreation Center, Lake Tahoe Historical Museum and Lake Tahoe Visitor's Center on Saturday, June 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This free event is open to everyone at the three adjacent properties.
What is your future vision for the SLT Recreation Complex?

The Parks, Trails and Recreation Master Plan has identified the South Lake Tahoe Recreation Complex for future renovation, but exactly how that renovation will look is up to the public.
The City's Parks and Recreation Commission is holding a public workshop to gather input from the community on what their desires for the complex are.
Recreation and Swim Complex changes hours of operation on Sundays
Submitted by paula on Sat, 09/06/2014 - 9:24pmStarting Sunday, September 7, hours for the South Lake Tahoe Recreation and Swim complex will change.
On Sundays, from 8 a.m. to noon, lap swimming, the weight room and other activities will be available. Formerly it was open from noon until 6 p.m.
Hours will remain the same for the rest of the week: Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The "Rec Center," as its known, is located at 1180 Rufus Allen Blvd. in South Lake Tahoe, CA. Their phone number is (530) 542-6056.
