Selected among several local outstanding youth Josh Kornbeck will compete against other Boys & Girls Club members for the California Youth of the Year title and a $1,000 college scholarship from Tupperware Brands Corporation. As the new Youth of the Year for Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe, 16-year old Josh is a true example of an extraordinary young man recognized by Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) for his sound character, leadership skills and willingness to give back to the community.

Michelle Reynolds is the newest addition to the Coldwell Banker Select family. She brings over 15 years of experience in the real estate industry; closing thousands of residential transactions. She lives and works in the resort community of South Lake Tahoe, as a Tahoe Keys and Luxury Home specialist. Her accolades include memberships in both the California Association of REALTORS® and National Association of REALTORS®, and is a South Tahoe Board member approved Certified Area Specialist. Michelle is a mother of twins attending Sierra House Elementary School.
Teen Court in South Lake Tahoe Invites New Participants

El Dorado County students in grades 8 through 12 are invited to participate in the juvenile justice system through the Teen Court program. Volunteer training will be held September 26, 2013 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. in El Dorado County Superior Court, Department 4, located at 1354 Johnson Boulevard, South Lake Tahoe. Upon completion of the mandatory training, teens will serve as court personnel for real cases where a minor has committed an offense, admitted the offense, and chosen to be judged by his/her peers.
Lake Tahoe Music Camp to host its 57th gathering July 21-27

The University of Nevada, Reno is set to hold the 57th Lake Tahoe Music Camp July 21-27 at the Nevada State 4-H Camp. Each year, nearly 200 students in grades 8 through 12 participate in a week of music activities, rehearsals, team building exercises and recreation time, all on the shores of beautiful Lake Tahoe.
The camp is filled with jazz and classical music workshops, clinics, performances, mentoring and instruction with award-winning University faculty, guest conductors, professional Chamber singers and jazz musicians and more.

Carl and his former “Storm Chaser” colleagues star Tim Samaras and his son Paul Samaras were killed on Friday, May 31 while chasing storms in Oklahoma.

The Lake Tahoe Regional Young Professionals will keep the fall feisty with their next mixer at the new Pub inside 968 Park Hotel, Sept. 26 from 7:30 – 10 p.m.
Pizzas, cheese and fruit platters will be bountiful throughout the evening so belly up to the bar for drink specials and sample organic New Belgium Brewery Beers, Organic wine or a cup of Joe.
Non-TRYP members who attend mixers will have a $5-10 cover fee depending on the event, while members are free.
