Did you feel it? 7.1 earthquake felt in South Lake Tahoe

Ridgecrest, California was rocked with a 7.1 earthquake Friday night, and even though 311 miles away, many residents in South Lake Tahoe felt the trembler.

The quake struck at 8:19 p.m., causing Kern County fires, rocking buildings, cracked foundations and has led to the closure of some roadways in Southern California. The latest earthquake occurred 11 miles northeast of Ridgecrest, according to the US Geological Survey.

Master Gardeners 2019 Plant Sale

The UCCE Master Gardeners of Lake Tahoe are having their 6th annual Plant Sale on Saturday, June 22, 2019 from 12 noon to 2 PM. (Or until all plants are sold, so arrive early!) This year’s sale will be held in the Cowork Tahoe parking lot. (Formerly Tahoe Mountain Lab) at 3079 Harrison Avenue, SLT. There will be a wide variety of Tahoe and Sierra natives as well as many high elevation adaptive plants. Vegetable plants will be very limited this year.

Lake Tahoe Home and Garden Show

The fourth annual Lake Tahoe Home and Garden Show will be held April 24, 2015, from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm, and Saturday, April 25, 2015, from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm, at the South Lake Tahoe Recreation Complex and Gym. Vendors will offer information on gardening in Tahoe, furnishings for the home and garden, plants and home decor items, clothing options, toys, and health related information and goods.Attendees can enjoy a variety of food vendors and live music will be available.
