South Lake Tahoe and El Dorado County join much of the state in the purple tier of COVID-19 restrictions
Submitted by paula on Mon, 11/16/2020 - 2:10pmEL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. - The State of California today announced new COVID-19 tier assignments, moving El Dorado County into Tier 1 Purple starting at noon on Tuesday, November 17. This date has been changed from the county's previously announced noon on Thursday.
Under the Purple Tier, the following sectors are permitted for OUTDOOR ONLY operations These sectors must still maintain mitigation measures (social distancing, face covering, and sanitization):
-Cardrooms, satellite wagering

Submitted by paula on Thu, 07/09/2020 - 10:17pmEL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. - The Board of Supervisors held a meeting on Thursday to discuss the current situation of positive cases of COVID-19 in the county, especially in South Lake Tahoe where numbers are starting to grow.
After almost four hours of discussion, both amongst themselves and during public comment, the Board made the following action items but didn't vote on any county-wide orders:
Governor outlines guidelines for reopening Nevada with phase one Saturday
Submitted by paula on Thu, 05/07/2020 - 4:39pmNevada Governor Steve Sisolak has unveiled his plan for the state to reopen under phase one starting May 9, 2020. Outdoor malls, restaurants, hair salons, and barber shops are among those able to reopen with new standards for safety.
"We must stay safe so we can stay open," said Sisolak of the ability to move into phase 2 by the end of May, or sooner.
"The beginning of the reopening of our economy is not the end of the coronavirus," said Sisolak during a press conference Thursday afternoon. "It's still with us, as strong as ever. It will not go away until there's a vaccine."
Governor orders all Nevada casinos and non-essential businesses to close
Submitted by paula on Tue, 03/17/2020 - 10:35pmDuring a Tuesday evening press conference, Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak ordered a statewide closure of all nonessential businesses in the state, including casinos.
The Stateline, Nevada casinos not already closed will close March 17 at midnight. The nonessential businesses in the state must close by noon on Wednesday, March 18.
