SBA and Treasury announce re-opening of PPP loans for businesses
Submitted by paula on Mon, 01/11/2021 - 11:43pmThe U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), in consultation with the Treasury Department, have reopened the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) for new borrowers and certain existing PPP borrowers.
The PPP will open to all participating lenders shortly thereafter. Updated PPP guidance outlining Program changes to enhance its effectiveness and accessibility has been released in accordance with the Economic Aid to Hard-Hit Small Businesses, Non-Profits, and Venues Act.
SBA's Economic Injury Disaster Loans and Advance Program reopened

The South Tahoe Chamber of Commerce would like to offer encouragement and support of a revival of the local economy, while continuing to keep the health and safety of our residents in mind. Cases of COVID-19 have remained low in our region when compared to other more populated areas around the State and Nation. We applaud the quick action taken by the County and City that has helped us keep the case count low.
Tahoe Chamber hosts virtual Town Hall for businesses navigated Cares Act

The Tahoe Chamber is holding a Virtual Town Hall on Friday, May 1, from 11:00 a.m. to noon with the Sierra Small Business Development Center and the U.S. Small Business Administration. They will help participants navigate the refunding of the CARES Act and answer business owner's questions.

Federal disaster loans available for some nonprofits affected by January's storms

The federal government is offering assistance after the severe winter storms, flooding and mudslides hit the state Jan. 3-12, 2017.
The eligible nonprofits must provide essential services of a governmental nature.
