SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Almost seven years ago, longtime friends Mark Hudson and Don Havard went to Kauai with their wives to vacation on the Hawaiian Island. They like to get a taste of local favorites while out of town and asked locals where they should eat.
Chicken In A Barrel was their recommendation.
Not only did the Las Vegas foursome go once, but they went a few times and the flavors they experienced have stayed on their minds ever since.

Three sessions of classes to help kick the smoking will be held in South Lake Tahoe, starting on June 24:

Health officials favor Nevada bill to ban smoking in cars with children

The documented ill health effects from inhaling secondhand smoke were squared off against individual rights at a hearing Thursday on a bill that would ban smoking in cars while children are present.
Assembly Bill 322 by Mike Sprinkle, D-Sparks, was supported in the Judiciary Committee hearing by health advocates who argued that children should not be exposed to an adult who is smoking in a confined space such as a vehicle.
Drivers violating the law could be pulled over for the offense by police and fined $25. It would not count as a moving traffic violation.
South Lake Tahoe Welcomes New Restaurant

After months of building, remodeling, planning and prepping, Sonney Bruning has opened "Sonney's BBQ Shack" in South Lake Tahoe.
"We've redone everything from the plumbing to the beer chiller, from the furniture to the floors," Bruning said while taking an unusual break right before the restaurant's soft opening March 22.
