Letter: Beavers are vital to Lake Tahoe, no depredation permits should be issued
Submitted by Anonymous on Sat, 03/16/2024 - 1:08pmI was incredibly disappointed to learn of the destruction of a beaver dam and the request for a depredation permit regarding the beaver living in the meadow adjacent to Tahoe Beach Club. Luxury condominiums should NEVER be prioritized over a keystone species such as beavers, an endangered plant like the Tahoe yellow cress, or the health of a watershed vital to the water quality of Lake Tahoe.
Tahoe Beach Club's Alpenglow Festival raises over $52K to support local artists and Clean Up The Lake

A significant portion, $25,772, was donated to Clean Up The Lake for the launch of their innovative Environmental Dive Center (EDC) in Incline Village, Nev.
The EDC represents a pioneering venture in environmental conservation. Doubling as both a conservation dive school and an environmental science center.

Dispute at Lake Tahoe construction site; One transported via Cal Star, other by ambulance
Submitted by paula on Thu, 04/30/2020 - 9:11am5.1.20 UPDATE: In the morning hours of April 30, 2020, a group of construction workers were involved in a physical altercation at their job site at the new Tahoe Beach Club at the end of Kahle Drive. During the physical fight, a knife was produced and one male sustained major knife inflicted injuries to his head/face and he was transported to Renown Medical Center in Reno via Cal Star.
Another male suffered minor non-life threatening injuries and he was transported to Barton Hospital in South Lake Tahoe.
Douglas County Commissioners to discuss end to monthly meeting in Lake Tahoe
Submitted by paula on Tue, 11/19/2019 - 11:15pmSTATELINE, Nev. - Currently, the Douglas County Board of Commissioners meet once a month at Lake Tahoe, but if Commissioner John Engels gets his way, this week's meeting will be their last at the Lake Tahoe Visitor's Authority (LTVA) building.
They have been meeting at the lake on the third Thursday of the month, but Engel's presentation will suggest this meeting take place in Minden just as their other three monthly meetings do.

$85M in sales at Tahoe Beach Club during first phase
Submitted by paula on Thu, 10/05/2017 - 9:14amDuring their first summer of sales, 39 of the 46 available contracts to buy a luxury condominium home at the Tahoe Beach Club sold for a total of $85 million.
This development at the end of Kahle Drive in Stateline, Nevada is the first full ownership lakefront in 30 years at Lake Tahoe. They are being built on land that was once a trailer park.
Homebuyers have been mostly from the Bay Area, Southern California, Texas and New York areas.
Fences going into water along Lake Tahoe shoreline removed
Submitted by paula on Thu, 06/22/2017 - 8:56pmLAKE TAHOE, Nevada - With the water level rising in Lake Tahoe, new issues have surfaced with the placement of fences at three parcels on the Nevada side that have extended into the lake. During recent drought years, the fences didn't touch water.
One fence was located at the new Tahoe Beach Club in Stateline, another at a private home just north of Cave Rock, and the third at a home in the Elks Point Country Club in Zephyr Cove.
Douglas County room tax may increase 1% to fund event center at Lake Tahoe

Overwhelming support for the tax increase was evident at the Douglas County Commissioner's meeting Thursday, where the elected officials voted 4-1 to approve the increase which would go into effect May 1, 2017.
Man attemps swim across Lake Tahoe for charity

On Wednesday, August 24, all of the preparation was put to test for the endurance athlete as he entered the 68 degree water at Emerald Bay for the 8.5 mile swim across the lake.

Old KGID treatment plant and trailers removed for new luxury Lake Tahoe project

The mobile homes are all gone, with the remaining few given 90 day notices in January to vacate the property.
Remaining residents asked to move; Tahoe Beach Club ready to break ground
Submitted by paula on Tue, 01/12/2016 - 3:00pmThe remaining tenants at the Tahoe Shore Mobile Home Park at Stateline, Nev., have been given 90 days to find new housing now that owners of the Tahoe Beach Club will be breaking ground on a 20-acre luxury lakefront condominium project.
This announcement should come as no surprise to the people who own or rent the mobile homes since they were originally told in 2003 that they would have to move so the project could be built.
The Tahoe Beach Club has been 14 years in the making and now it looks like the first shovels will be moving dirt at the new lakeside development by June, 2016.
