Lake Tahoe ski and snowboard swap at MontBleu to benefit Heavenly foundation

The Heavenly Ski and Snowboard Foundation will host the 24th Annual Ski and Snowboard Swap at MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa on Saturday Nov. 17.
Proceeds will benefit the Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides skiing and snowboarding programs and events for regional youth and local middle school and high school students. The swap runs Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.
Warren Miller film 'Flow State' arrives at Lake Tahoe

At South Shore Lake Tahoe there's two coming events worth noting: Warren Miller’s 63rd annual film, “Flow State” will be shown at at MontBleu Resort Casino and Spa Nov. 29-30 as part of a 240-city tour.
This annual Miller-produced homage to all things skiing and boarding takes viewers to the top of the world’s most striking peaks in Norway, Austria, California, Switzerland and beyond.
Heavenly Ski and Snowboard Foundation 2012-13 season registration begins

The Heavenly Ski and Snowboard Foundation at Lake Tahoe has opened registration for the 2012 – 2013 competitive and development ski and snowboard programs. With a variety of options from the One-Day Program to the Full-Time Competitive Program, the Foundation has something for all ages and levels of skiers and riders. Registration packets are available online and at the HSSF building.

In it second year the South Shore Lake Tahoe music festival will feature plenty of electronic, hip-hop and rock acts. Beats Antique, Polica, Flosstradamus, Dam Funk and Madeon will be among the artists to perform.

Members of the board unanimously supported that the organization turn its attention to the next available (when the United States Olympics Committee decides to bid) Winter Olympic games while simultaneously focusing its efforts on attracting world class sporting events to the region in preparation for a potential bid.

Open to all skiers and snowboarders age six and under, the Kinder Kup series is designed to introduce young athletes to competition in a friendly environment. No previous race experience necessary and all abilities are welcome. Entry is $20 and includes a World Cup only competitor lift ticket if needed.

The Heavenly Ski and Snowboard Foundation has announced two new programs for the 2011 – 2012 winter season under the Freestyle umbrella. The Foundation will offer two Freeride program options, the One-Day Program and the Full-Time Competitive Program. The Heavenly Ski and Snowboard Foundation has opened registration for the 2011 – 2012 Alpine, Freestyle, Freeride and Snowboard Programs. With a variety of options from the One-Day Program to the Full-Time Competitive Program, the Lake Tahoe foundation has something for all ages and levels of skiers and riders. Registration packets are available online, at the HSSF building, or by calling the HSSF administration office. Those who register and pay in full now will receive the early registration pricing; prices increase $100 on November 1, 2011.
