The race presenter AEG, the world’s leading sports and live entertainment company, created routes that will challenge these top female cyclists. They will vie for the coveted jersey during the four-day race. After Lake Tahoe they head to Elk Grove on May 13, and the finale in Sacramento on MMay 14.

AEG, the producer and presenter of the 2017 tours, made the announcement today.
The men's Amgen Tour of California runs from May 14-20 and the Amgen Breakaway from Heart DiseaseTM Women’s Race empowered with SRAM starts in South Lake Tahoe on May 11,with the final race on May 14.
Amgen Tour of California finishes in Sacramento

U.S. National Road Race Champion Megan Guarnier (Glens Falls, New York) of Boels-Dolmans Cycling Team also celebrated victory in Sacramento as the four-day Amgen Breakaway from Heart Disease™ Women’s Race Empowered with SRAM which concluded along with the men’s event.
Amgen tour sets up final race day in Sacramento
Submitted by admin on Sat, 05/21/2016 - 8:29pmWith thousands of fans lining the streets of Santa Rosa, Team KATUSHA’s star sprinter Alexander Kristoff (NOR) catapulted to a stage win, his eighth of the season, by a rim over all-time Amgen Tour of California stage win record holder Peter Sagan (SVK) of Tinkoff, who had spent much of the 109.1-mile day in a breakaway. The Amgen Breakaway from Heart Disease™ Women’s Race Empowered with SRAM also spent the day in Santa Rosa, with cycling’s winningest woman Marianne Vos (NED) cinching the victory for Rabo Liv Women Cycling Team.

Countdown to Amgen: Chance of snow leads up to race day

All eyes of the bicycle racing world were on South Lake Tahoe as our mountain resort town hosted one of the top cycling events in the world. Anticipation and excitement were evident throughout the area as plans came into place with the amazing groups of volunteers that the South Shore is known for.
