LTCC Writer's Series welcomes humorist Michael Branch

For more than a decade, Branch has been writing about life in Nevada’s Great Basin Desert with an audacity, lyricism, and wit that is uniquely his own, and on Thursday, October 20, he brings that humor to Lake Tahoe Community College at 8:00 p.m.
The LTCC Writers' Series event with Branch will be held in LTCC’s Roberta Mason Library. This event is free and open to students and the community.
Rebecca Makkai is next featured author at LTCC’s Writers’ Series

The Lake Tahoe Community College Writers’ Series welcomes novelist Rebecca Makkai on Wednesday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. in the Board/Aspen Room inside the library building. Makkai will read selections from her work, answer audience questions, and sign copies of her books, which will be available for sale. This event is free and open to the public.

Lake Tahoe Community College’s Writers’ Series continues on Friday, November 13 at 7:00 p.m. in the Roberta Mason Library with visits from poet and journalist Ilyse Kusnetz, and teacher, farmer, and poet Julia Shipley.
The two writers will read selections from their works, answer audience questions about their writing process, and sign copies of their books for sale that night. This event is free and the public is welcome to attend!

Reno's first-ever poet laureate, Gailmarie Pahmeier and poet/teacher Shaun T. Griffin will be the next featured artists at the Lake Tahoe Community College's Writers Series on April 21 at 7 p.m.
The poets will read selections from their works, answer questions from the audience and sign copies of their books at the event which will take place at the college'e Roberta L. Mason Library. Their books will be available for sale.

Pam Houston will be the featured writer at Lake Tahoe Community College's Writers Series on Thursday, May 8 in the college's library at 8 p.m.
Houston’s most recent novel, Contents May Have Shifted, was published in 2012. The book has been called “an absorbing, generous, ravishing book by a high priestess of you-have-to-read-this prose” by author Cheryl Strayed, who penned the New York Times bestseller Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail.
