Road Beat: Review - Lexus IS 500 F Sport is an old school hot rod

This is not an IS F. Yes, it's not a replacement for the preceding V8-powered sports sedan from now already nearly 10 years ago. No, for this is an F Sport model, gaining the IS 500 F Sport Performance moniker to sit atop the IS range. Want a proper F-car? There's the RC F coupe still available. To F or not, the IS 500 is an absolute riot of a car, and one of particularly excellent value. For your dough, you get a wonderful, snarling five-liter V8 with 472 horsepower that forgoes turbocharging to instead swallow our atmosphere all on its own like an Olympic runner.

Road Beat: 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz Review - To truck or not to truck

Brilliant? Or lame a pretender? The Road Beat tests the new Santa Cruz to find out where it fits in.

What is it?
Hyundai's Santa Cruz, an 'almost-truck' aimed to capture buyers who don't need a full-sized, traditional truck. Based on a Hyundai Tucson crossover underneath, this unibody creation brings truck practicality and usefulness but aims to drive just like a normal car. It's supposed to be a truck for people that don't necessarily need nor want a truck. But, is it any decent, and does it have a place in the world?

RoadBeat: 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross - It's a good size, but is it a good choice?

I wanted to like the new Corolla Cross, Toyota's new compact crossover. Drawing on the name of one of its most successful models for marketing purposes, this new entry sits below the RAV4 in Toyota's hierarchy, but above the niche C-HR. Actually, think of this as a new RAV4 'classic.' I say 'classic' because the RAV4 has grown rather large over the past decade, dwarfing its early forebears, with this new Corolla Cross being a more similar size to those classic RAV offerings. In fact, it's larger than a pre-2005 RAV4.

Now, coming back to the Highlander Hybrid, how does it hold up two years into its model run?
