The South Lake Tahoe Recreation Center will host a special Kids Night Out for Valentine’s Day on Thursday, Feb. 14 from 6-10 pm. The $25 registration includes: swimming, pizza, movie (G or PG), games, Valentine fun and crafts. Children can be dropped-off from 6-7:30 pm. Parents must pre-register and space is limited.

Burning Man pre-registration tickets on sale Wednesday through Sunday
Submitted by Editor on Wed, 02/06/2013 - 5:25amPre-registration begins at noon today for 40,000 Burning Man tickets at $380 per ticket. The pre-registration period ends noon Sunday, Feb. 10. Burning Man officials are doing tiered first-come-first serve sales of the 2013 tickets.
According to the official Burning Man website, organizers say they've come up with a ticket sales plan to meet the needs of the "greatest number of people possible," given that there is a limited supply available.

Mural Project spotlights talents of local artist and seeks to engage community

Right now they contain the mural paintings of Kit Carson, V&T Railroad, Dat So La Lee, the Carson Mint, Carson Nugget, Roosevelt’s Speech Capital Building, Carson Brewery and Capital Building; but soon those walls could contain so much more.
“The hope is to show Carson City’s uniqueness as well as the love and pride we have for our home and community,” said Gardnerville artist Beverly Caputo.

The Beacon Bar and Grill at Camp Richardson in South Lake Tahoe will hold its next wild and spirited evening snowshoe cocktail races Feb. 16 and again on March 16. Both events begin at 7 p.m.

W’intermezzo at Edgewood Tahoe is a classical concert and artists’ reception featuring the internationally acclaimed classical duo of American pianist Deborah Dewey and Icelandic violinist Elfa Run Kristinsdottir.
The Jan. 31 event is a fundraiser for Soroptimist International South Lake Tahoe. Tickets are $29 in advance and $35 at the door. They are for sale online and during business hours at Deb Howard & Co. in South Lake Tahoe.
The performance starts at 6pm at Edgewood Tahoe in Stateline.

He will be discussing his short story, tum' and the Agency school, at a panel designed to explore the combination of speculative fiction and indigenous peoples.
Rugg is the former editor of Lake Tahoe Action Magazine and a former staff member of both the Tahoe Daily Tribune and the Reno Gazette-Journal.

Youth Theatre Carson City is excited to announce our upcoming production of "Aladdin and His Wonderful, Magical Lamp," a magical adaptation of the classic tale, Friday through Sunday Jan. 11-13 at the Carson City Community Center and Jan. 18 at Piper’s Opera House in Virginia City.
