Considered one of the best of a new generation of classical guitarists, French phenomenon Thibault Cauvin will perform at Hope Lutheran Church of the Sierra in South Lake Tahoe at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 28.
The 24-year-old Parisian is known for his many virtuosic styles. His appearance at South Lake Tahoe is part of a year-long worldwide tour that has taken him to New York where he played Carnegie Hall, Hong Kong, San Paolo and Istanbul, London, Melbourne, Singapore and Tel-Aviv.

November 2, 2012 - 7:00pm On Nov. 2 at 7 pm Bona Fide Books will launch Brooklyn poet Lexa Hillyer’s award-winning collection “Acquainted with the Cold” at a reading at the Lake Tahoe Community College’s Writers’ Series. The event is free and open to the public.
“Acquainted with the Cold” is Hillyer’s first collection, and it won Bona Fide’s 2011 Melissa Lanitis Gregory Poetry Prize, offered annually in honor of the local artist who died in 2009. The book is concerned with the intersection of nature and city, and takes the reader on an invigorating ode to the seasons.

The magnificent Valhalla Grand Hall, of the vintage 1924 ‘Heller Estate’, listed on the National Historic Register of Historic Places hosts the 17th annual Valhalla Holiday Faire Nov.16-18. Featuring a 40-foot high spectacular natural stone fireplace, the Grand Hall will be decorated in a festive Holiday mode. Twenty-five local vendors and artists will be offering a varied assortment of hand-made and other special items for purchase. We have had a total of six this year, which is the most we have EVER had, but the one we got in about a month ago, was just with us for about 3 days, after being hit by a car in the Woodfords, Calif., area. We got ‘her’ back so she could - hopefully – take care of her babies.
