Fall Festival and Chili Cook Off in South Lake Tahoe

The fifth annual Fall Festival and the fourth annual Chili Cook Off have joined into one fun Fall event, and will take place at the South Lake Tahoe Recreation Complex on Saturday, September 17.

Produced by Golden Bear Events, the Festival will open at 10:00 a.m. and run until 4:00 p.m., and the Chili Cook Off will run from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Admission to the event itself is free, and each attendee will receive a free door prize ticket. Drawings will be held every twenty minutes for gift certificates or small items like plants, reusable bags, coffee mugs, tee shirts, etc.

You can buy a bowl and taste the six different kinds of chili,then vote for your favorite. Chili competitors include the Lake Tahoe Humane Society, So Good It's a Crime, Chimayo Grill, Hopeful Henry, Moon House, and Casey's-An American Cantina.

An old fashioned cake walk will be run by Sally of Sally's Playhouse, and there will be free games and small prizes for the kids. Face painting by Upgrade Your Party will be offered at a nominal fee, and vendors will offer goods and services.

Drawing prize tickets for gift baskets and services can be bought for fifty cents each, and bids can be made for a silent auction basket with dumpster use, donated by South Tahoe Refuse.
