South Lake Tahoe Olympian Jamie Anderson part of Celebrity Apprentice

Watch this preview of the season opener of television's Celebrity Apprentice and you might recognize someone.

Jamie Anderson, South Lake Tahoe resident and Gold Medalist from the Sochi Olympics, is on the cast of popular television show which starts on Sunday night, January 4 at 9 p.m. on NBC.

She joins actors Vivica A Fox, Lorenzo Lamas, Ian Ziering, Keshia Knight Pulliam; Fellow athletes Shawn Johnson, Terrell Owens, Johnny Damon; Reality show stars Sig Hansen, Kate Gosselin, Kenya Moore; Singer Kevin Jonas; Model Brandi Glanville;

Television news stars Geraldo Rivera, Leeza Gibbons and Comedian Gilbert Gottfried.

The winner of the show gets $250,000 to give to the charity of their choice. Jamie is representing her charity Protect Our Winters. Its mission is to mobilize the winter sports community in leading the fight against climate change. They hope to ease climate change's effects on sports and local economies. Since Jaime grew up in the mountains of Lake Tahoe, and being a winter athlete, she says she's seen drastic climate changes up close. Money she may win will go towards educational initiatives, advocacy and the support of community-based projects for the organization.

Jamie Anderson is quickly becoming one of the most recognizable female snowboarders in America. She was the first female gold medalist to win in slopestyle snowboarding at the Sochi Olympics in 2014. Anderson's other victories include four gold medals at the Winter X Games, and gold medals at every stop of the 2012 Burton Global Open Series. She was named the 2011 Dew Tour Champion, 2008, 2011 and 2012 first overall World Tour ranking and 2013 U.S. Grand Prix Slopestyle Winner.

Anderson, one of eight siblings, was introduced to snowboarding by her two older sisters, and began riding at the age of nine after convincing her mom she was old enough. Due to her early start, she became the youngest Winter X Games Medalist at age 15 and the youngest Women's World Tour Winner at 19. She won the ESPY award for Best Female Action Athlete in 2012 and once again in 2014 for both Best Female Action Athlete and Best Female U.S. Olympic Athlete in 2014.

Anderson is making a name for herself with her continued success, gracing the covers of publications such as ESPN: The Magazine's Annual Body Issue and Sports Illustrated's Winter Olympic Preview issue. Anderson resides in South Lake Tahoe, California.
