Most Liberty Utilities customers on West Shore should have power restored Monday

6:00 p.m. update Monday - Power is back on to all but 50 customers along the West shore. Liberty Utilities said their crews were able to rebuild a major transmission line today that serves the West Shore. The 50 customers still without power are along SR-89 between Squaw Valley and Truckee as well as in a couple of scattered areas. With the snow coming down hard now, Liberty will continue to monitor this line as well as work on restoring power to those customers without service. "Thank you to our customers for your patience and understanding this this extreme storm event," said Kathy Carter of Liberty Utilities.

Liberty Utilities customers from Emerald Bay through and including Tahoma now have power. All other West Shore customers remain without power with estimated restoration time at 5:00 p.m. today.

NV Energy crews are assisting Liberty crews in addition to the contracted crews called in three days ago. There are two power lines that have been affected by mudslides and downed trees, and two of NV Energy sources that supply Liberty were affected by mudslides. Road closures are hampering efforts to get supplies and crews to needed locations.

"We ask our customers to continue to check their website for updates as our Customer Call Center will not have the latest information," said Liberty Utilities spokesperson Kathy Carter.
