12:30 p.m. update - Liberty Utilities' crews are making progress! 1,100 customers in the Northstar area have their power been restored. Kings Beach and Squaw Valley (total of 7,200 customers) are in progress and barring any further road blocks are estimated to be restored by approximately 3:00 p.m. No word on South Lake Tahoe yet.

Because of the numerous large trees that have fallen through lines and wires down, it is causing the restoration process to be very slow working one community at a time. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REMOVE LINES ON THE GROUND. Call 911 if you believe downed lines pose an immediate risk or if you have an emergency situation. We will continue to provide updates via our website as our dispatchers updating the website will have more information than our Emergency Customer Service Agents. Emergency: 1-844-245-6868

Several areas of South Lake Tahoe and Meyers are without power Tuesday evening as weather is getting more severe and power lines are going out at a rapid rate according to Liberty Utilities spokesperson Kathy Carter.

Crews remain out in the field but road closures and dangerous conditions are making repairs difficult. They have lost a major line which feeds most communities along Hwy 89 up through Loyalton and Portola. With I-80 closed they had to send a crew on snow cat to the probably problem and are are expected to arrive on scene by 1:00 a.m. Tahoe City is also experiencing outages with no restoration time estimated yet. Some regions may experience flash outages that can be repaired quickly throughout the evening if accessible.
