South Lake Tahoe native Jamie Anderson, 26, was in an unfamiliar position when she stood on the third-place step of the podium at the slopestyle snowboarding world cup Friday in Laax, Switzerland.
The reigning Olympic slopestyle champion and Meyers resident, Anderson had only ever stood atop the podium in each of her six world cup podium appearances before Friday. The most recent of her four slopestyle wins came last February in Bokwang, Korea, the slopestyle venue for the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games, while the latest of her two big air wins was last month at Copper Mountain, Colorado.
