Submitted by paula on Fri, 11/15/2019 - 5:04pmSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - MTV has released their daily lineup and single ticket sales for the 9th annual SnowGlobe Music Festival taking place in South Lake Tahoe December 29-31, 2019.
The VIP three-day passes are all sold out, but single festival tickets make it easier for fans of specific artists or time constraints. A limited quantity of Advanced Single Day general admission and VIP tickets have been released.
When the 'Advanced' ticket tier sells out their 'Last Chance' tickets will immediately go on sale, normally at a higher rate than those purchased early.

Jamie Anderson has big fall at X Games, grabs bronze in Big Air
Submitted by paula on Sat, 01/26/2019 - 11:00pmJamie Anderson of South Lake Tahoe and one of the most successful female snowboarders won her 16th X Games medal, winning the bronze on Thursday in Women's Snowboard Big Air.
Jamie took a hard fall during one run, landing on her face and leaving her with bruises that were visible when interviewed on television Friday. Half of her female competitors in Big Air didn't finish after they too crashed.

Submitted by paula on Wed, 02/21/2018 - 6:20pmWith a forecast of gusty winds, the Olympic organizers moved the Women's Snowboard Big Air medal runs up one day, and a South Lake Tahoe resident is walking away with a medal in the first ever Big Air event at the Olympics.
Jamie Anderson added to her medal count, wining a silver medal in Big Air with jumps that scored 90.00 and 87.25. Her third jump did not score.
Austria's Anna Gasser, with a pair of extremely progressive tricks, won the gold in women's snowboard big air with a 89.00 and 96.00. Her first jump did not score.

It was the debut of snowboard big air at the Olympics today, with 12 women advancing to the finals, including South Lake Tahoe's Jamie Anderson who landed cab double cork 900s in her second run.
Anderson won gold earlier in the Olympics during the slopestyle event, her second consecutive gold in the event.

As the top American woman on the podium, Anderson qualified for her second Olympic Winter Games and earned the chance to defend her title in PyeongChang in February. She will also be able to add a medal in another event as all slopestyle riders will also compete in big air as it makes its Olympic debut.

Up-and-comer Red Gerard from Silverthorne, Colo., topped the field to take the win for the men, while South Lake Tahoe's Jamie Anderson continued her global domination with a win for the ladies. Kyle Mack (West Bloomfield, MI) and Hailey Langland (San Clemente, CA) each took second while Dylan Thomas (Kingsley, PA) and Julia Marino (Westport, CT) were third.
China's Olympic freestyle mogul run renamed "Squaw Valley"

The ”stoke delegation” from Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows visited the resort’s sister mountain in China, Genting Secret Garden. China will be hosting the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.
South Lake Tahoe women win medals during Aspen's X Games

South Lake Tahoe's Elena Hight, 27, made her thirteenth X Games appearance, and is now a six-time medalist. She won the Women's Snowboard SuperPipe with a 87.33 over Xuetong Cai and Chloe Kim. Another South Lake Tahoe rider, 30-year-old Hannah Teter, came in eighth. She too is a six-time medalist in the X Games.

Jamie Anderson notches sixth World Cup gold medal in big air

Anderson, who is the reigning Olympic champion in slopestyle, notched a total of 151.25 points. It was her second World Cup gold in big air—her other four World Cup gold medals have come in slopestyle.
The big air event will make its debut at the 2018 Olympics in PyeongChang.

Anderson, who is fresh off a win at the Burton US Open in slopestyle, won the world title with a pair of 720s (Cab and frontside) in the two-run format.

The event is designed to to spread seat belt safety awareness. An $1,800 cash purse is up for grabs for open divisions with prizes and swag for amateur divisions. The U.S. Forest Service and organizers of January's Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month are working together to promote and recognize the event at Lake Tahoe and elsewhere, highlighting the health benefits of winter outdoor activity.
