South Lake Tahoe women win medals during Aspen's X Games

Women from the South Shore of Lake Tahoe will once again bring home medals from the X Games held this weekend in Aspen, Colorado.

South Lake Tahoe's Elena Hight, 27, made her thirteenth X Games appearance, and is now a six-time medalist. She won the Women's Snowboard SuperPipe with a 87.33 over Xuetong Cai and Chloe Kim. Another South Lake Tahoe rider, 30-year-old Hannah Teter, came in eighth. She too is a six-time medalist in the X Games.

Olympic Gold Medalist Jamie Anderson, 26, of Meyers won silver in the Women's Snowboard Slopestyle competition. Anderson is the most decorated rider in X Games Slopestyle history with 12 medals. During the games' Women's Snowboard Big Air, Anderson fell and placed fourth.

Fellow Olympic Gold Medalist Maddie Bowman is also coming home with more awards to add to her collection. In her ninth X Games appearance, Bowman placed third in the Women's Ski SuperPipe. The South Lake Tahoe resident just celebrated her 23rd birthday on January 10.
