Science Expo is a week long event that guides third, fourth, and fifth grade students through hands-on scientific investigations and experiments. This year's theme is Physical Science with topics including: Energy, Forces in Motion, and Properties of Matter.

Training is provided and no science experience is required! Please feel free to sign up for more than one session as they need a number of volunteers. Being a volunteer is fun and easy, and snacks and refreshments are provided!

The training event will be on March 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences in Incline Village. They are also available to train you for the activity station during the hour leading up to the start time of the event each day or over the phone in advance of the event. Many of the stations require very little training and simply need a facilitator. You will receive activity descriptions with detailed background about the science presented. Volunteers will need to be ready to go at their station prior to the start time indicated and plan a few minutes following the end time to clean up.

The Science Expo could really use your help! It is important that students have early experiences in science so that they develop curiosity and problem-solving skills that empower them to participate in an increasingly scientific and technological world.
