Message from Sierra: It looks like our snow dances worked fam! Although the storm rolled in wet, it turned into snow overnight and dropped an estimated 7" at the top of the mountain. That brings our season snowfall total over the 300 inch mark, which is more than double what we got last season! I'm happy to report that it's still dumping snow here at the base, so stay tuned in to sierraattahoe.com for the most recent snow totals as we update it throughout the day. We're starting the powder party this morning at 8:30 am with 44 open trails, 27 cords to carve, and 6 parks to send it in. Scope out http://www.sierraattahoe.com/mountain/conditions for the status of our 5 back country gates, and if you plan on riding in the back country remember to bring along a buddy and your brain bucket! For a real-time view of the fresh snow that's falling, peep our webcams at http://www.sierraattahoe.com/mountain/conditions/web-cams. Highways 50, 88, and 89 are all currently on chain control.
