South Lake Tahoe schools, including college, are closed Friday

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Students in the Lake Tahoe Unified School District get to start their winter break a day early as they will have a Snow Day on Friday, February 15.

In an announcement Thursday, Christy Blach, the LTUSD transportation supervisor said the extreme weather this afternoon and in the forecast for tomorrow led them to the decision for the safety of our students and staff.

All LTUSD schools will be closed next week for Presidents Holiday Break. Schools will resume a regular schedule on Monday, February 25th.

Also closed will be Lake Tahoe Community College. They had already scheduled it as four-day holiday break. No classes will be held and all campus buildings will be closed. To help with snow removal and cleanup, they ask that students do not come to campus.
