V-Day South Lake Tahoe holds 17th annual benefit performance of The Vagina Monologues

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A benefit performance of Eve Ensler’s The Vagina Monologues will be held in South Lake Tahoe February 22-23 at MontBleu Resort.

Originally scheduled for the LTCC Duke Theater, the fundraiser had to move due to some broken water pipes in the theater on Tuesday.

The Vagina Monologues returns for its 17th year in South Lake Tahoe with a goal this year of raising $15,000 for scholarships for female-identified students at Lake Tahoe Community College.

Our cast is made up of a diverse group of community members including; students, mothers, daughters, sisters new-to-the-stage and seasoned performers. V-Day is a global activist movement to end violence against women and girls by raising funds and awareness. Productions like this and other V-day benefit events organized by volunteer activists take place around the world, educating millions of people about the reality of violence against women and girls.

The Award-winning play, The Vagina Monologues is based on V-Day Founder/playwright Eve Ensler's interviews with more than 200 women. With humor and grace, the production celebrates women's sexuality and strength. Over the last 20 years, through this play and the liberation of this one word, countless women throughout the world have taken control of their bodies and their lives.

8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. - Performance of The Vagina Monologues- $25 –General Admission & $20 Students
