Global climate change the focus on next TERC Talk in Incline Village

Event Date:
April 20, 2017 - 5:30pm

Humans produce carbon pollution. It's no secret. When we drive our cars, heat and light our homes, grow our food... we emit CO2. All around the world, habitats called carbon sinks have absorbed approximately 25% of this carbon pollution reducing the risk of global warming impacts without imposing a monetary cost on society.

These carbon sinks, their vulnerability to future changes, and how global climate policies are susceptible to the sustainability of natural carbon dioxide uptake are the focus of the April 20 TERC talk at the U.C. Davis Environmental Center in Incline Village on April 20 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Dr. Ben Houlton, the director of the John Muir Institute of the Environment at UC Davis, will be leading the discussion.

Registration for this event is required. The program will begin at 6 p.m. with refreshments and no-host bar from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 291 Country Club Drive in Incline Village (between Tahoe Boulevard/SR 28 and Lakeshore Blvd.) on the campus of Sierra Nevada College.

Seating is open at 5:30 p.m. to guests who have pre-registered, open seating starts at 5:50 p.m., and the program begins at 6:00 p.m. A $5 suggested donation will be collected at the door.
