COVID-19 cases in the South Lake Tahoe area up to 9, El Dorado County at 22

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Two more positive tests for COVID-19 were received in the South Lake Tahoe region of El Dorado County, and one more in El Dorado Hills, bringing the county total up to 22.

Two of the new cases were community-acquired and one is under investigation.

The South Lake Tahoe region of the county runs from Tahoma to Meyers and includes the city of South Lake Tahoe.

To date, 849 have been tested for the virus in El Dorado County with 683 coming back negative and the results on about 144 are still pending.

In the Carson City Quad County region (Douglas, Carson City, Lyon, and Storey) there was one new reported case, a female Douglas County resident in her 60s. She has been self-isolating in her home and is in a stable condition.

Carson City Health and Human Services reported a second recovery. El Dorado County does not track recoveries.

Washoe County is reporting 45 more COVID-19 cases. Washoe County now has 229 cases, four deaths and 26 recoveries. They do not break down which areas of the county have active cases but it was reported on the Saint Francis of Assisi in Incline Village Facebook page that they have decided to close their church after three staff members tested positive for COVID-19.

Another county that borders Lake Tahoe is Placer County. They now report 97 cases and 2 deaths. They report cases in Applegate, Auburn, Carnelian Bay, Foresthill, Granite Bay, Kings Beach, Lincoln, Loomis, Meadow Vista, Newcastle, Olympic Valley, Penryn, Rocklin, Roseville, Sheridan, Tahoe City, and Truckee.
