South Lake Tahoe City Council agenda

Monday night's special session of the South Lake Tahoe City Council was scheduled for not only Brown Act and AB 1234 (ethics) training, but it was also time to interview candidates for the interim position of city manager. Tuesday's Council meeting has a closed session scheduled to name the person to fill the position.

On Tuesday, the Council has a full agenda:

The appointment of two residents to the Planning Commission. They must choose two of the following to fill out terms of previous commissioners: Julie Garrett-Wright, Ronald Landau, Edward Lynch, Diana Madson, Kilnoe (Kili) Ongoy, Justin Watzka.

Cannabis Ordinance: Draft ordinances for cannabis public safety licenses and cannabis use permits will be discussed with opportunities for the public and Council to comment. They could direct staff to develop an ordinance.

Lake Tahoe Visitor's Authority will give a presentation on Amgen.

The 56-acre area in the center of South Lake Tahoe will be discussed with Foothill Associates who were hired to provide history and analysis of the area owned by the County but used by the City (Campground by the Lake, Senior Center, Lake Tahoe History Museum, LTVA building, Tahoe Art League, Lakeview Commons). The City and the County split the cost of the analysis, each paying $25,678.95.

Payment for the Mary Egan/Municipal Resource Group, LLC contract will also be discussed. She was hired in 2017 to provide assessment of City leadership effectiveness, culture of the senior management team, succession planning and other issues, though who hired Egan has not been clear.
