Cram-a-Cruiser food drive to be held this Saturday in South Lake Tahoe

Event Date:
May 6, 2017 - 10:00am

Bread & Broth 4 Kids (BB4K) is holding their popular Cram-a-Cruiser food drive at South Lake Tahoe’s Grocery Outlet on Saturday, May 6, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The community has been very generous to help local children in need who are in grades K-8 at Sierra House, Bijou, Tahoe Valley and South Tahoe Middle schools. Each Friday, Bread & Broth 4 Kids fills 130 backpacks of food for students in local schools who have been identified as needing help with food over the weekends and holidays when the free lunch program doesn’t help. Weekend bags contain seven meals and four snacks, all non-perishable and single serving size.

The South Lake Tahoe Police Department will be dropping off one of their police cruisers in the parking lot of Grocery Outlet located at 2358 Lake Tahoe Blvd. During the day, community members will fill up the car with food items found on the Bread & Broth 4 Kids “Wish List.”

What is needed: Please choose from this list of needed food donations: Individual Cup-of-Noodles, cups of Macaroni and Cheese, canned soup or meals like ravioli and chili, fruit snacks, granola bars, individual packets of oatmeal, breakfast bars, individual servings of fruit cups and applesauce.

A list will also be provided at the event for those shopping at the Grocery Outlet.
