COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe and surrounding counties

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. - There has been one new reported case of COVID-19 in El Dorado County since Tuesday, this time in the Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue area. The person is a female between the ages of 50-64.

Residents have been given an additional 178 tests, including those administered and the two new stations in Shingle Springs and South Lake Tahoe. There are currently nine active cases with no new recoveries.

Twenty people in the Lake Tahoe region of the county have tested positive. This region includes South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Kyburz, and Tahoma.

Washoe County

The Regional Information Center is reporting an additional COVID-19-related death in Washoe County: A male in his 70s with underlying health conditions.

This is the 37th COVID-19-related death in Washoe County.

In addition, there were just eight additional positive COVID-19 cases reported and 15 additional recoveries. There are currently 19 cases of the virus in the county at Lake Tahoe - Incline Village (population 8,900) has 19 cases and Crystal Bay (population 661) has one.

Quad-Counties - Carson City, Douglas, Storey, Lyon

Quad-County Emergency Operations Center (Quad EOC) is reporting one new positive case and two additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 109, with 65 recoveries and one death, 43 cases remain active.

The new case is:
• A female Lyon County resident in her 20’s

Carson City Health and Human Services is working to identify close risk contacts to prevent further spread of the disease. Due to medical privacy requirements and to protect their identity, no further information about the case will be released.

There have only been updates to the county's testing figures. The two positive case numbers have not risen in a few weeks. The figures below are the last ones reported on April 27 and there have been no changes.
