COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe and surrounding counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The numbers stayed the same in El Dorado County Thursday in El Dorado County. No new cases and no new recoveries. There are still 44 total cases, 40 recoveries, and four active cases.

The County tested 90 more people, bringing the total to 2,140 tests.

Fifteen in the Lake Tahoe region of the county have tested positive. This region includes South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Kyburz, and Tahoma.

The Regional Information Center is reporting 25 additional COVID-19 cases in Washoe County and 11 recoveries.

Hospital bed and ventilator information
In Washoe County as of April 29, 2020:

60 percent of short-term, acute-care hospital beds are occupied (+4% since April 28)
49 percent of the Intensive Care Unit beds are occupied (+4%)
21 percent of ventilators are in use (+1%)
Further, there were 24 additional recoveries and 14 additional positive cases of COVID-19 in Washoe County.

The county breaks down cases by zip code, and Incline Village, with a population of 8,800, has 19 cases, or 2.2 per 1,000 people, and Crystal Bay has one. Both of these areas remained the same Thursday. Southeast Reno's 46,907 residents have 139 cases or 3 cases per 1,000.

Quad-Counties - Carson City, Douglas, Storey, Lyon

(Carson City, NV)- Quad-County Emergency Operations Center (Quad EOC) is reporting two new positive cases and five additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 92, with 46 recoveries and one death, 45 cases remain active.

The new cases are:
• A female Carson City resident in her 70’s
• A female Lyon County resident in her 20’s

Carson City Health and Human Services is working to identify close risk contacts to prevent further spread of the disease. Due to medical privacy requirements and to protect their identity, no further information about the cases will be released.
