Tahoe ArtFest along Ski Run to bring music, art and film to South LakeTahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Celebrate creativity along Ski Run Boulevard on Sunday, June 2 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. during the inaugural Tahoe ArtFest.

The Tahoe Arts Alliance is bringing the event to South Lake Tahoe with visual and performing arts, films, chalk art, and a Battle of the Bands, all in one day.

Entrance to the festival though drink passports can be purchased.

A “Hair of the Dog” passport is available gives purchasers to enjoy mimosa tasting at each of the venues, a souvenir cup, a token to vote in the Battle of the Bands, a chance to enter a grand prize raffle, and a discount at participating businesses - including 15 percent off of Outdoor Gear Lab’s Big Spring Gear Sale. Passports are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.

The day before is the Boys & Girls Club 2019 Brew Fest and those attending will receive a discount code for $5 off the “Hair of the Dog” passport. Make a weekend of South Lake Tahoe fun!

In partnership with the Ski Run Business Association, each participating location along Ski Run Blvd will host a different genre of art. These businesses and their art focus will be plotted on a map available to patrons. Participating businesses include Alder Inn, Black Bear Lodge, Blue Angel Cafe, Biospirit, Chimayo, Outdoor Gear Lab, and more.

The Battle of the Bands will feature eight bands located throughout Ski Run Blvd. Bands competing for the top prize include Robin Orr, Miki Rae & Taking Root, Exceeding 55, Soul Panda, Taylor Rennee, Grandpa Mafia, Gabriel Montezuma, and Bluesberry Jam.

To kick things off, there will also be a pre-show performance of Molly DeLallo and Iron Ivy on Friday night at Blue Angel Café from 7:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. Tickets for the pre-show Kickoff Party are $10 at the door or can be purchased in advance with a “Kickoff Party and ‘Hair of the Dog’ Passport Combo” for $30 at ArtFestPass.BownPaperTickets.com.
