Western Nevada College hosting Journey of Hope

Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity’s Journey of Hope is a group of philanthropic-minded cyclists traveling across the country to help people with disabilities, and they'll be in Carson City on Friday, June 16.

Since 2014, Western Nevada College has hosted the group as they make their annual journey across 32 states, 12,000 combined miles of cycling.

WNC and the Nevada Governor’s Council on Developmental Disabilities will present a number of activities near the Dini Library & Student Center to celebrate the cycling team’s friendship visit from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The festivities will include activities for children, free food, disability-related resource tables, music, dancing and raffle prizes.

Besides visiting with the participating cyclists, the public can connect with local organizations committed to serving and supporting those with disabilities.

For more information, contact Susan Trist, WNC’s coordinator of Disability Support Services at 775-445-4459.
