Another South Lake Tahoe Babe Ruth team advances toward World Series

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Earlier this week the South Tahoe Babe Ruth 13-year-old all-star team became the Nevada State champs and are now headed to the regional finals in Utah.

Now the local Babe Ruth 16-18-year-old team is the Nevada State Champion for their age bracket. They beat South Reno 22-2, then Sparks 4-2 and finally South Reno in championship 16-4. The team is now moving onto their regional finals in Mountain View, Calif. If they win there they play in the World Series in Alabama.

The 16-18 roster of players: Ricardo Aguila, Jaden Aquino, Auston Burdick, Kyle Clark, Carson Cobel, Miles Hamburg, Christian Jacuk, Aaron Johnson, Travis Lee, Andrew Lehman, Cameron Lehman, Kevin Lehman, Bryin Schouten, Jenson Smith, Aiden Walker, Tyler Wattanachinda. Coaches are Tommy Charles, Ryan Schouten, Dustin Skiles and Starbuck Teevan.

Not to be left out, the South Lake Tahoe Babe Ruth 14-15-year-olds are hosting the Nevada State Championships in town this weekend.

It is costly to move onto these out-of-state tournaments so a joint GoFundMe account has now been set up for the South Lake Tahoe Babe Ruth teams. To help them out, donate here.

Now its time to root for the 14-15-year-olds in their quest for a state championship.
