Summer programs continue in August at Taylor Creek Visitor Center

The Summer Keynote Speaker Series at the Taylor Creek Visitor Center continues every Thursday evening through August at the Lake of the Sky Amphitheater. The programs are sponsored by the U.S. Forest Service and the Tahoe Heritage Foundation, a non-profit organization that works with the Forest Service to conduct interpretive and environmental education programs in the Tahoe. Donations to the Tahoe Heritage Foundation are welcomed.

Programs in August include “An Evening with Mark Twain” on August 2 at 7 p.m., “Leave No Trace” on August 9 at 8 p.m., “Winged Flight at Night” on August 16 at 8 p.m., "Stargazing with Richard Combs on August 23 at 8 p.m. and "Wild Things" on August 30 at 7 p.m.

The Taylor Creek Visitor Center also offers an assortment of visitor and kids programs daily as well as "Wild Outdoor Movie Night" Saturday nights through August. Upcoming films include “Bears: an IMAX movie featuring bears of the world” on August 4 at 8 p.m., “Beaver: an IMAX movie featuring beaver behavior and more” on August 11 at 8 p.m., “Bees: Tales from the Hive” on August 18 at 8 p.m. and "World of Raptors" on August 25 at 8 p.m.
