Douglas County narrows down group of applicants for Asst. County Manager job

Douglas County will soon have an Assistant County Manager. Over 100 people applied for this new position, and that initial pool of applicants has now been narrowed down to eight after phone interviews with Human Resources.

The next step are panel interviews for those finalists which are scheduled for August 7, 2017. The panel consists of elected ofneighboring counties.

The panel will select two to three candidates to proceed to the final process which will include the chance to interact with the public at during a reception and a final interview with County Manager, Larry Werner. A date and time for this reception is still to be announced.

The Assistant County Manager will provide assistance and support to the County Manager in making decisions and recommendations regarding the overall operations of the County as well as serving to represent the County in dealings with public officials from other jurisdictions, representatives of private industry, and members of the general public.

Previously the Assistant County Manager and Chief Financial Officer was a dual role but the Douglas County Commissioners added the new position which separated the two roles into the 2017/2018 fiscal year budget.
