Lake Tahoe area roadwork through August 20

LONG-TERM PROJECTS

State Route 89 (Placer County): Work continues on a $70.1 million project from Tahoma to just north of Granlibakken Road in Tahoe City that is upgrading storm water drainage and treatment systems, adding curb and gutter, resurfacing and realigning the road, adding new left-turn pockets and widening shoulders on an 8-mile stretch of the highway. Completion is expected by summer 2017.
August 14-20 - State Route 89 (Placer County) from Sugar Pine Road to Ward Avenue/Sunnyside Avenue and from Spruce Avenue to Sequoia Avenue North: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 8 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday and 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday for curb, gutter and drainage work.

State Route 89 (El Dorado County): Work continues on a $13 million water quality improvement project from Cascade Road to just north of the Eagle Falls Viaduct over Emerald Bay. The project is constructing new drainage facilities to treat stormwater runoff and repaving a four-mile section of the highway. Completion is expected in summer 2017.
August 14-20 - State Route 89 (El Dorado County) from Cascade Road to Upper Emerald Bay Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 1 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday and 1 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday for shoulder work.

State Route 89 (El Dorado County): Work continues on a $25 million project from the "Y" junction with U.S. Highway 50 in South Lake Tahoe to Cascade Road, north of Camp Richardson. Curb, gutter and sidewalks will be added in the 1.1-mile four-lane section, and the highway will be widened in the two-lane section to Visitor Center Road to provide 4-foot paved shoulders on each side. Drainage systems are also being built and the roadway is being resurfaced. Completion is expected this fall.
August 14-20 - State Route 89 (El Dorado County) from 12th Street to West Way: Northbound and southbound motorists can expect alternating lane closures from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday for pavement work. Motorists also can expect overnight one-way traffic control from West Way to Cascade Road from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday night through Friday morning for paving operations.

SHORT-TERM PROJECTS

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) at the Upper Truckee River: Motorists can expect alternating overnight lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Tuesday night through Saturday a.m. for bridge work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) at Ponderosa Road: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect alternating lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Saturday for sign work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) at El Dorado Road: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect alternating lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday and 7 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday for sign work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) at Schnell School Road: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect the #2 lane closed from 5 p.m. to 10 a.m. Sunday through 6 a.m. Saturday for paving and bridge work.

State Route 89 (El Dorado County) from Cascade Road to Upper Emerald Bay Road: Motorists can expect 24-hour one-way traffic controls from 1 a.m. Monday through 11 a.m. Friday for shoulder, drainage and guardrail installation.

State Route 89 (El Dorado County) from 12th Street to West Way: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday for curb/gutter/ sidewalk work.

State Route 89 (Placer County) from Elizabeth Drive to Timberland Drive: Motorists can expect overnight one-way traffic controls from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday night through Friday morning for roadway excavation.

State Route 89 (Placer County) from Timberland Drive to Sugar Pine Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday for curb/gutter/sidewalk work.

State Route 89 (Placer County) from Spruce Avenue to Sequoia Avenue: Motorists can expect overnight one-way traffic controls from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday night through Friday morning for drainage work.

State Route 89 (Placer County) from Sequoia Avenue (south) to Sequoia Avenue (north): Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday for curb/gutter/sidewalk work

State Route 89 (Placer County) from Twin Crags Drive to Alpine Meadows Road Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday for prep work in advance of a grinding and paving project.

State Route 89 (Placer County) from Silver Creek Campground to Cabin Creek Road: Motorists can expect one way traffic controls from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday for grinding and paving operations.

State Route 193 (El Dorado County) at Rock Creek Road: Motorists can expect long-term signalized one-way traffic control for emergency repair work.

State Route 193 (El Dorado County) at the South Fork American River/Chili Bar Bridge: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday for bridge work.
